Me And My Cat?
by Satoshi Kitamura

My child says it was funny because the boy turned into a cat and was able to feel what it’s like to be a cat. Then the ending is a twist that makes the book really fun!

Great book for those approaching middle school! The issues were timely and the resolution felt natural. The vaping arc felt contrived, but I honestly have no idea how parents really view it - if this had been written for older kids the drug of choice would have been alcohol or pot. Loved the focus on friendships rather than relationships.

Short but it was fun to read. It was about Evelyn Glennie, who changed percussion forever by being deaf and playing multiple instruments.

The Summer Of June

I did not enjoy this book whatsoever. I think that it has a good message but could have been portrayed in a better way. June has crippling anxiety and thinks she can fix it in a summer. Which is impossible. The climax of this book was not good and I found it had no plot
